School Magazine analysis

Two separate images have been used on the magazine thestudents both look happy and are dressed in academic attire. The smartlydressed students show that the school is of a higher standard compared to otherschool magazine. The use of two images goes against the conventions of amagazine, usually it is one main image used i don’t think I will be using therelayout of two images in my magazine as i find it less effective to if it wasone main focus image also I think it looks amateurish.

The language used with in the magazine is representing thegenre of the magazine using words such as “scholarship, school waiting list andboarding places” the use of words makes a clear indication of the genre justfrom the language used on the front page alone. I will use this conventionthroughout my magazine as well as my front cover as t informs the reader andtalks to them using the language which will relate there desired genre whichinterests them.

The use of large bold fonts represents the school likequality to the genre they have used a font which looks pristine lick theschools reputation and image they are trying to portray also the font looksclean and neat on the page like a school uniform, unlike if they had boldbubble font this is not used because even though school is said to be fun ithas to represent the smart intellectual feel which you wouldn’t get from abubble font. I think the font used would be appropriate font to use in mymagazine as it represents the genre accordingly with out looking to plain andboring.

The use of bright varying primary colours indicates a mix ofgenres that are represented with in the magazine also the colour schemes used abright colourful theme; it represents the enjoyment and energetic vibe of the school.I think I will use this convention in my magazine as it makes the magazinestandout on the shelf also it doesn't put a label on the magazine as being afemale or male orientated magazine as schools generally tend to be mixed genderschools. This also gives the magazine the opportunity to have a wider targetaudience.
